Our approach<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong>1.1<\/strong> The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (\u2018ASC\u2019 we\u2019, \u2018us\u2019, and \u2018our\u2019) take data protection very seriously and we are committed to protecting your personal information.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><strong>1.2<\/strong> This explains what information gather about you, what we use that information for, and who we give that information to. It also sets out your rights in relation to your information, how long we keep it and who you can contact for more information. We collectively refer to handling, collecting, protecting or storing your personal information as \u2018processing\u2019.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><b>3. Using personal information<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p5\"><strong>4.1<\/strong> When you provide personal information to us, we may use it for any of the purposes described below or as stated at the point we collect it from you (or as may obvious to you from the context of collection), including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To provide services to you that you have requested.<\/li>\n<li>To consider whether to offer someone employment with us.<\/li>\n<li>To administer and manage our website.<\/li>\n<li>In connection with our certification programme.<\/li>\n<li>Any other purposes for which personal information has been provided to us, including any of the purposes given in the \u2018Collection of personal information\u2019 section above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p8\"><strong>4.2<\/strong> We do not collect personally identifying information for sale to third parties.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><b>5. Security of personal information<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p5\"><strong>6.1<\/strong> We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><strong>6.2<\/strong> Only authorised persons are provided access to personally identifiable information we have collected, and such individuals have agreed to maintain the confidentiality of this information.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><strong>6.3<\/strong> Although we use appropriate security measures once we have received your personal data, the transmission of data over the internet (including by e-mail) is never completely secure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><strong>6.4<\/strong> We endeavour to protect personal data, but we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to or by us.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><b>7.
